A6. Our East London Mosque, based on Malford Grove, South Woodford, East London, E18 2DX, provide Muslim marriage Nikkah ceremonies as well as divorce services to Muslim couples living across the UK. If you provide us with your full address including your postcode, we will send you our Imam’s fixed quote, for conducting your Nikkah ceremony in Leeds.
Q7. I wish to get married (muslim marriage/nikkah) with my male fiancé, but I have not got two witnesses or wali who will attend the ceremony. Can you assist us?
A7. Yes, Inshallah our Nikkah's in East London Mosque can assist you and provide witnesses and wali (please discuss and agree the fees charged for providing the witnesses prior to the ceremony). Please notify us when booking your ceremony that you will need a witness, as finding a suitable witness would on average take 4-5 days. Please note that we require an additional 50% non-refundable deposit (approximately £30) for the witnesses as once hired, they cannot be cancelled.
Q8. What are the requirements for a Muslim marriage Nikkah Ceremony at your East London Mosque?
A8. Please attend our Mosque located on Malford Grove, South Woodford, East London, E18 2DX, with the following: Bride, Groom, two witnesses and brides guardian
(Father, Grandfather or Uncle) after booking your appointment and after paying the booking fee.
Q9. What is the number of guests we can bring to the East London Mosque?
A9. The maximum number of guests is 7 (which includes Bride and Groom). If you want to bring more guest than 7, please let us know in advance so that our Imam can quote the additional fees for setting up extra seats.
Please note that children below 10 years of age are not permitted.
Q10. I live in Central London. How much will you charge for me having a Muslim marriage ceremony in my flat in London W2 area.
A10. For ceremonies in your house/flat, hall or restaurant, please provide your full address with the full post code of the venue where you want the Nikkah ceremony to take place. Please note that our Imam will be able to quote his Nikkah service fee for your house Nikkah, once we have received your full address and postcode. Please note, there will be a higher deposit for Nikkah ceremonies conducted at your home address, restaurant or wedding venue, as our Imam will attend these venues in a cab.
Q11, When should we book our Nikkah Ceremony at your Mosque?
A11. Most of our clients book their Nikkah Ceremonies at least 5 days to 2 weeks in advance (most of our clients bring their own wedding witnesses).
Q12. I want to get a divorce from my husband, do you provide Khula divorce services?
A12. Our East London Shariah Council, based on Malford Grove, South Woodford, East London, E18 2DX, provides a fast Khula divorce certificates for our clients, who are seeking a speedy dissolution of their marriages. We can assist you in Divorce & Khula certificates issuing via our sister organisation, (East London Shariah Council) in situations where the marriage has broken down irretrievably.
Q13. After booking my Nikkah ceremony, is there anything else I need to do?
A13. You need the following :-
1) Two adult male Muslim witnesses who should attend your wedding and also should sign the Muslim Marriage Certificate/ Nikkah Certificate. The two witnesses should bring proof of their identity, to show to our Imam, on the wedding date. The proof of identity could be a valid Passport OR a valid photo card Driving Licence.
2) The bride's "Walli" ( bride's guardian), usually her father (or uncle or brother) should also attend the ceremony to sign the "Muslim Nikkah Certificate". Walli's attendance is in addition to two witnesses' attendance on that day.
3) Before the Nikkah date, the couple should also discuss and mutually agree regarding the "amount of MAHAR", as the " MAHAR" sum is recorded on the "Muslim Nikkah Certificate".
